Nick Cody at Fringe

Calling all classic Aussies, this is the comedian for you!

Do you like honest, Australian humour? Well look no further my friend, because Nick Cody’s Come Get Some is exactly what you need.

This red-bearded, beer loving Melbournian takes you on a hilarious trip through all of the ridiculous parts of everyday life that you’ve been thinking about and wishing someone would bring up; like why the F**k you cant get a tap to work and why do private schools exist for five-year-olds?

Nick Cody has headlined packed out shows around the globe and largely centres this performance on travel, including the unbearable woes of trip adviser. The 28-year-old funny-man also expresses his dissatisfaction with aging, especially considering he looks like a “decent 40-year-old, terrible 28”.

So if you’re keen to hear jokes about the Dubai heat, body builders in the gym, the way that white middle-class adults literally worship rap music, or you’re dreading getting older because you caught yourself saying “f**k, we’re out of quince paste!” then this is the show you’re looking for.

However, before you get overwhelmingly excited to buy tickets – I saw the last show in Adelaide. Very sad, I know. If you’re in or going to be in Melbourne at all in March, he will be doing his show Come Get Some every night for about a week at the end of the month. In the meantime, you can look up his live shows on his website and youtube.

The rating I give Nick for this Fringe show is a 4 out of 5. The only reason I didn’t give him a full 5 stars is due to a light joke surrounding terrorism, which I think may be a little too sensitive for some considering the past year of global events. Apart from this, it was a great show!

We rate: ★★★★ 4/5 stars
