Adelaide’s renowned Curious Squire welcomes a brand new, limited release by the brewers down at Malt Shovel Brewery and James Squire. Beer connoisseurs, behold… The ‘Dark Side Cherry Stout‘.
Being exclusive to James Squire brewhouses around Australia only, we are excited for Adelaide to get its first taste of the ‘dark side’.
The name ‘Dark Side Cherry Stout’ connotes an elegant, rich and full-bodied brew full of flavour, stimulating our minds with the thoughts of rich, dark chocolates harbouring a soft cherry centre. There is no doubt the release certainly lives up to its name.
Made with approximately 200 kilograms of sweet, red cherries sourced directly from Australian growers, the Dark Side Cherry Stout possesses hints of delicate, fruity flavours alongside bold, chocolate roast notes.
Curious Squire’s Drew Akin and Head Chef Matt Sandrey will be preparing a special dish to compliment the sugary-sweet, cherry zest of the new release.
“We dry rubbed and marinated Murray River beef ribs and smoked them with cherry and mesquite woods. Served with a James Squire Cherry Stout reduction, super creamy Jack Polenta, and chili garlic broccolini – this makes for the perfect flavour combination,” describes Drew Akin.
Located at 10 O’Connell Street, North Adelaide, The Curious Squire will only be offering James Squire’s Cherry Stout until limited stock runs out, so get in quick!
