It’s officially about to start warming up in South Australia with September promising to deliver some well overdue sunny days. After having a taste of spring weather over the last week, you would be right to start thinking of ditching your boots and seeking summery options for footwear. Never fear, we’ve found the ultimate spring shoe to have you stepping in the right direction.

The espadrille. It’s been around for decades and brings with it a charm direct from the beaches of Southern France or the islands of Greece. They’re the shoes that complete the spring outfit dominated by pastel colouring and loose fitting silhouettes, a broad brimmed hat perhaps complimenting a Mediterranean-inspired ensemble. They were a favourite of Grace Kelly and currently dominate the shoe lines of Chloe and classically feminine labels that emulate chic femininity and an aura of a bohemian romance.

Traditionally lightly coloured and lined with a woven sole or heel, the espadrille can be considered your go-to this spring being versatile to match your brighter, lighter wardrobes.

We’re walking with an extra spring in our step (pun absolutely intended) and you should be too. Here are our favourite espadrilles for you to strut your stuff in the sunny weather around Adelaide.
