Wine On with Pinot Palooza

Pinot Palooza The Adelaidian

From the guys who brought you Game of Rhones comes Pinot Palooza; an event that combines a wine tasting with a music festival atmosphere. Nothing about this event is traditional and stuffy like some other wine events, it’s a celebration of all things pinot and all things fun!

The event spans across six cities in both Australia and New Zealand and showcases 250 Pinot producers. The Adelaide edition is on the 6th of August at the Queens theatre. Acts span from the very well known local ‘Headiners’ such as d’Arenburg, Shaw + Smith and Henschke to ‘supporting’ acts like Tasmanians Tolpuddle, Josef Chromy and Charteris. One thing that you will notice looking at the line up is that there is a very strong Tasmanian and New Zealand presence which is something not often seen at a South Australian wine fest. It offers a fantastic opportunity to try Pinots from the some of the world’s best growing regions and the chance to meet the maker and gain some knowledge.

It’s not just all about the wine though; festival food is going to be lovingly created by Duncan Welgemoed from Africola to keep you energised for the day. There are also going to be cleansing ales and ciders by Young Henry’s for those required palette cleansers. These are not included in the ticket price so bring some cash!

Tickets are a super reasonable $60, which includes a giant crystal Plumm pinot glass that you can take home (no drinking out of plastic at this festival). We recommend getting your tickets in advance as last year was a sell out. Flower crowns and your best festival attire is encouraged!

Tickets can be purchased here.
