Winterfest warms up Hart’s Mill

Pile on your thickest coat and your woolliest scarf, Adelaidians! Winterfest has arrived in Port Adelaide, inviting everyone to wander down and warm up at the Port with a variety of fun activities.

On Thursday night, Winterfest invited us to their official launch. We were greeted with an impressive spread from Graze Gourmet Platter Co. featuring a particularly special oozy brie, drizzled with honey and topped with fresh figs. SA Cocktail Events also supplied a spiced mulled wine made fresh with orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and an Adelaide merlot. SA Cocktail Events will be running special cocktail making classes over the duration of the pop-up, which will cost just $10 and include two delicious winter-themed concoctions.

We were also lucky enough to sample a few treats from the available food trucks, which sell everything from delicious wood fire pizzas to strawberry and Nutella crepes. Winterfest isn’t just about food, though. The festival also has some gorgeous markets showcasing crafts from local small businesses, as well as live music all over the industrial space.

One thing you can’t miss is the spectacular waterfront ice-skating rink, decked out so beautifully that it looks more like a ballroom than an ice arena.

The attention to detail that Renewal SA have applied to the festival creates an enchanting and thoroughly wintery atmosphere. The industrial warehouses have been transformed into snuggly, winter-warming zones. The festival runs from 14th July- 23rd July at Hart’s Mill in Port Adelaide, with entry at $14 for adults.
