Gorman A/W16 Runway // VAMFF

Gorman boasts punchy colours and vibrant patterns this season with some stunning designs that will turn heads in an instant.

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of previewing their A/W 2016 collection at this year’s Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Their Autumn campaign, Geology, encompasses a range of inherently unique, stand-out designs, including crystal and rock prints oh-so suited to the campaign name. Colourful clusters of crystals can be found printed on pastel purple, white and black, featuring on the Rocky Skirt, the What A Gem Bomber, the Rocky Raincoat, a fun Rocky Tee Dress and so many more.

Each pattern used on Gorman’s garments either directly or indirectly seeks to resemble a geological-related object, whether it be a satellite map or shattered minerals. The colours are mostly bright and contrasting, which really accentuates these original, funky prints. Classic leather and stripes also feature in some jackets, skirts, tops and finger less knits as staple wardrobe items, counterbalancing the statement garments from Geology.

Gorman proves that your Winter wardrobe doesn’t just have to be neutrals and dark colours. Be daring this season with Gorman A/W16 and check out their grandiose Geology lookbook here!
