Josh Wade, himself and Cunny

Viral internet sensation Josh Wade (who created classic viral videos like Shit Aussies Say and Siri – Aussie Bogan Version) brought his standup comedy show Me, Myself and Cunny to the Adelaide Fringe, making audiences laugh and (at times) cringe for a full 90 minutes.

The show follows Josh Wade battling with his alter-ego Cuntorious (better known as Cunny) in a bid for Josh to regain control of his personality and be recognised for who he is, rather than as his comedic character.

Through many controversial jokes, crude improvisations and some emotional turmoil we see how the issues facing Gen Y helped Josh create Cunny and fuel his success, and why Josh now has a burning desire to rid himself of his bogan alter-ego.

Me, Myself and Cunny sees Josh take on the role of many characters other than Cunny, showcasing his versatile acting talent and clever audiovisual skills. Though watching Josh explore other characters was entertaining, at times he did seem to revert back to the safe mask that is Cunny, and after 90 minutes of hearing similar jokes about sex, drugs and Australian politicians we did find ourselves hesitating to laugh a bit.

It’s clear that Josh is ready to move on from solely playing the character that earned him over 1 million followers on YouTube, and we’re excited to see what he dreams up next.

We rate: ★★★ 3/5 stars
