Photo Diary: A relaxing High Tea with Choc on Choc at Lanes of London

Over the weekend we took a little time to unwind and enjoyed a relaxing high tea at Lanes of London. This gorgeous restaurant is a part of the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane in Mayfair and boasts a stunning interior featuring marble tables, plush couch seating and a tranquil atmosphere.

We arrived at 3PM on a Saturday afternoon and, to the delight of our ears, were instantly soothed by soft strings being played on a large harp central to the room. Taking our seat by the window, we were seen to straight away with an extensive list of teas to choose from. Our lovely waiter William expressed acute knowledge and passion for the teas. He explained to us that he had specifically chosen each one himself for us that day, with a slight biased towards choosing his personal favourites. Laying out a scent board, we could smell the tea leaves themselves to make a decision on which teas we wanted to try, which was a super lovely touch.

William went on to talk about our High Tea menu which had been carefully curated by Choc on Choc. The British chocolatier had created a range of ultra cute, lifelike choc moulds of traditional high tea menu items; among the items were the likes of cucumber sandwiches, biscuits and even little scones with jam inside. We indulged in treats other than chocolate too, getting a taste of cured salmon, chicken pesto and egg sandwiches for savoury options. The gold dusted, sparkly macaroons were also a favourite, with an interior made of lavender, lycee and bee balm. Yum!
