Republic Refresh Launch

Last Thursday, The Adelaidian attended the Republic Refresh launch party hosted by event gurus Girl About Town. Now under new management, Republic has refreshed their ever-trendy venue, introducing new additions to both the food and drink menus, and the evolution of “Miss Fridays” – their “sassy” night out. New Manager, Stephen Lee, says “We simply want to be ever-evolving to ensure we remain the modern, exciting pub that we are renowned for…but rest assured that what our patrons have come to know and love about Republic won’t change.”

If you haven’t had the privilege of visiting the modern suburban pub, Republic, and its award-winning outdoor beer garden, you’re seriously missing out. Located in Norwood, it is the perfect place to meet up with friends and enjoy a casual meal. Their food menu has plenty to offer and their extensive drinks menu does not disappoint either.

The bar menu includes all the classic favourites, and the restaurant menu is vast, including a huge variety of salads as well as barbequed meats cooked on their charcoal rotisserie. If you’re a ‘roo lover, the smoked kangaroo is seriously worth fighting for. If disaster strikes and the table next to you order the last serve, leaving you sad and kangaroo-less, I’m not going to encourage that you physically fight for it (as I don’t condone violence) but I’d definitely suggest some form of witch-craft or trickery. You need that kangaroo in your belly. For real.

A pop-up Oyster Bar stands in the corner serving oysters with your choice of condiment including the likes of chilli paste, caviar, a spicy ginger and black bean combination and more. Adds quite the classy touch!

Their refreshed Espresso martini, which is now in jars (!!), is super exciting too, as you get to shake it like a Polaroid picture all by yourself! The martinis are divine and an unbeatable $5 on Friday nights. However, if you’re feeling like something with a little less bang, their beer and cider menu is full of tasty craft beers. Plus, as part of “Miss Fridays”, they are also offering $5 bubbles all night, and $5 tap beer and cider between 5pm and 7pm.

Republic’s refreshed Sunday sesh, “The Sunday Secret Garden Party”, which kicked off April 12, oozes cool. They will be hosting an impressive line-up of local talent, and if that doesn’t sound appealing enough, they’ve also introduced the “create your own platter”, giving patrons the flexibility to craft their ultimate tasting platter (um, YES PLS).

With the approach of winter, Republic will undoubtedly draw the winter hermits out of hibernation as their outdoor heaters will keep you nice and snug.
