Adelaide’s newest luxury shopping precinct is never far behind with the latest in style. Rundle Place is made up of 50 specialty stores, 14 of which boast a premium range of women’s fashion.
Thanks to Grays PR and the amazing photographic set-up in their HQ, we had the pleasure of taking a more hands on approach during this year’s Rundle Place Spring/Summer 2017 Roadshow campaign.
A delicious breakfast spread provided by The Organik Store and Café was all the fuel we needed before heading to the racks, where loads of this season’s hot picks were hanging alongside some eccentric statement accessories (all of which you can find inside Rundle Place this season).
Fulfilling our wardrobe goals, we pieced different ensembles together in co-ordinance with our favourite accessories and shoes from the selection provided. The room exuded creativity, as everyone used their individual flair to create a range of outfits with the option of dressing themselves, or styling the gorgeous models floating around the room. It was eye-opening to see the multiplicity of looks created using the shared items, which were mixed and matched to achieve some seriously voguish outcomes.
Fellow Adelaidian writer Liberty Petersen used her quirky finesse to piece together some stand out looks, starting with a vibrant combo of pink and red. Liberty said she was initially concerned with the wearability of the look, but admired how the professionals wore it so effortlessly.
“I took this as an opportunity to try my hand at styling the look. Pink and red is everywhere for the SS17 season, but it’s taken me some time to come around to the look. I’ve seen the trend on the Valentino runway, as well as on street style mavens, but it just seemed difficult to pull off.”
The practical style of the Roadshow launch allowed for experimentation with colour and textiles, easing us out of our comfort zones.
“Turns out, pink and red is super versatile and easy to execute. I particularly loved layering the look and playing around with pink and red accessories too. It’s such a fun, bright alternative to the black that we’ve been wearing all winter. I’m definitely into the trend now!” Liberty says.
Another look we styled featured a more neutral pallette, showcasing a pair of flattering culottes accompanied by an adorable frill hemmed pink crop for some textural detail, and bold metallic accessories. The initial outfit was office glam inspired, but with an outerwear change and some softer accessories, it took to a more bohemian vibe. The softer colours looked amazing on our model!
In the next couple of months, Adelaide fashion gurus will be giving styling sessions to Rundle Place shoppers who are seeking a little fashion guidance this spring/summer season. The team is made up of a few fashion favourites, including Jenni Eyles (Styling Curvy) and The Adelaidian’s very own Kristen Byass and Melissa Zahorujko, who are credited for their sense of style on a national basis. This option is also available to organised groups, providing the perfect gift or just an excuse to catch up with the girls, so be sure to head into Rundle Place and get your styling session underway!
