The Showroom Boutique Launch

If there’s one thing Adelaide isn’t short of its talented, local fashion designers.

Adelaide Central Plaza has given us another excuse to support local with the opening of a boutique, The Showroom. The minimalist space is situated upstairs a few doors down from David Jones. The opening of the boutique works well with a second Renew Adelaide project, Fashion Concept Collective soon-to-open next door.

The Adelaidian was invited to The Showroom Boutique launch on Thursday night, celebrated with drinks and canapes, as well as a live installation of models showcasing The Showroom’s local labels.

Adelaide-based designer, Ashlee Graham launched the boutique and showcased two designs from the summer collection of her self-titled label, on the models from Pride Models.

It should be noted her dad constructed the massive wooden table in the middle of the store and the change rooms in just 4 days.  On ya Dad!

Her work is sold alongside local designers, Scott and Scarce, whose designs were also worn by the models and feature on the clothing racks lining the store.

Both labels have created a range of clothing styles, including split skirts, bustiers and crops in this seasons launch of prints, drawing close attention to fabric texture and dimension.

The boutique also houses a range of jewellery, art and home wares.

Kathryn Heywood’s contemporary silver jewellery collection is on show with square and circle shaped necklaces and earrings.

Hausmause Candles are available for purchase just in time for Christmas in absolutely divine flavours, such as coconut and lime, sugar cookie, ginger bread, lime, basil and mandarin and black tea and lychee. YUM!

A range of beautiful handmade rope necklaces and bracelets in various colours designed by Francis Tohl of Tohl The Label were on display. These abstract accessories are perfectly suited to add a pop of colour to a simple outfit. Or for those who channel their inner Jane (from Daria) and own way too much black.
