6 Flotespace boats we’d rather be on right now

Considering the world has gone a bit mad in 2020, we’re pretty grateful to still be working and chasing our dreams. That’s not to say we still don’t have moments where we wish we were sailing on a beautiful yacht, the sea breeze in our air, sun on our skin and the Sydney Harbour skyline running alongside us. When these moments hit, we like to browse Flotespace’s online directory of beautiful yachts we could hire (note: we mean someone could hire for us) and picture ourselves tanning on the deck.

For those who aren’t familiar with Flotespace, it’s essentially the Uber of boats. You can hire a stunning floating paradise for as little as one hour, complete with crew, and some even with catering, fully stocked bars, water toys and more. Honestly it’s the stuff of dreams, and we’re wondering why nobody has thought of this before.

After many hours spent daydreaming on the Flotespace website, here’s our comprehensive list of six luxe boats we’d rather be on right now.

Tiger 4

We’re staring off casual guys, nothing too crazy. Tiger 4 is a summery catamaran with all the trimmings; think booths, a BBQ, sound system, party lights and floaty toys. You can even bring your own DJ onboard if you want to take your boat party to the next level. We could picture ourselves hiring this for a relaxing day cruising around the harbour, enjoying the best of what Sydney has to offer.

Starship Sydney

Got a last-minute work function or Christmas party you need to book? Starship Sydney is your floating event space dreams come true, designed to help you entertain. Floor to ceiling glass windows, beautiful outside decking and plenty of space for up to 950 guests (probably not right now with social distancing restrictions, but it’s pretty large, as you can imagine), mean whoever you invite to this shindig is going to be very impressed.

MV Bel

You might not be able to whisk your partner away on a romantic getaway to Italy this year, but MV Bel is here to help you recreate the experience. This stunning boat is reminiscent of the romantic vessels you see floating around the canals of Venice, and has been designed to offer the utmost luxury and class to its passengers. This the kind of boat you hire when you’ve got a sparkling ring in one hand and a bottle of champagne in the other to pop after you’ve popped a very important question.

Shadow

Dark and sexy, it’s easy to see where Shadow got its name from. This 100-foot yacht is perfect for cruising away from Sydney and up to the beautiful Whitsundays (when the Queensland borders open, of course), as it’s fitted out with luxurious bedrooms complete with ensuites, spacious front and rear decks and beautiful entertaining areas. We could definitely see ourselves spending a couple of weeks living the nautical life aboard this stunning boat.

Dreamtime Girl

Just look at those blue and white striped lounges on the back of Dreamtime Girl. This boat’s perfect for groups of all ages, as it comes with floaty toys and a giant inflatable waterslide. Yes, please. Leave the crew to entertain the young ones with fun watersports while mum and dad lie back with an Aperol Spritz in hand, soaking up the sunshine.

Masteka 2

Ok seriously, if anyone sees this and hires Masteka 2 for the summer, we’re shotgunning invites. This majestic 122-foot superyacht is truly in a league of its own, with five luxurious bedrooms, two lounge areas and a huge deck. Floaty toys are cool, but how do waterskis, wakeboard, paddleboards and kayaks sound? After you’ve spent your afternoon frolicking in the sparkling ocean water, how about a relaxing dip in the eight-person jacuzzi? No need to stop for fish and chips by the beach either, as this superyacht of dreams comes with its own chef and fully stocked bar. This boat is nicer than our entire homes, and we need to be on it.

If you’re keen to hire any of these boats, or you want to browse what’s available and have a little daydream like us, you can check out Flotespace’s website here.
