In the spring of 2021 the park picnic was the social event of the season. And by that we mean it was the only thing you were allowed to do in cities like Melbourne and Sydney with harsh lockdown restrictions in place. Before we got our sweet taste of freedom a couple of weeks ago we made the most of the beautiful Australian weather and got together with another friend of ours to have a cute picnic in the park. Sheraton Grand very kindly supplied us with their Spring High Tea At Home set to enjoy in the sun, which we had loads of fun nibbling on while lounging on the grass.
Each High Tea At Home set comes with everything you’d expect from a lavish high tea and more. Some of the highlights for us were the macaroni and cheese croquette with truffle tomato relish and the wasabi bun with trout rillettes and roe. The chocolate orange scones were a wonderfully sweet surprise as we were expecting them to be raisins and loved the hint of sweet citrusy flavour we were met with instead. From the sweet spread, the raspberry dark chocolate mousse was a resounding favourite, followed closely by the pavlova with blueberry cream and seasonal fruit.
As well as the high tea set, Sheraton Grand also have an Indulgence Box which comes with a variety of sandwiches, meats, charcuterie, sides and sweets, and even the option to add on a beautiful wicker picnic basket to keep.
