Fresh new look for sophisticated wine bar

The National Wine Centre is giving the largest wine tasting experience in Australia a fresh new look. Wined Bar, which will be designed for wining and dining, is set to open in early this month.

“Food and wine matching will be more prevalent and we’re working on an exciting new menu that will complement the extensive range of wines on offer”, the Centre’s General Manager, Adrian Emeny said.

The facelift has been designed by South Australian interior design company designthink and is expected to deliver some impressive aesthetics with natural, rustic tones and roughly 2500 wine bottles suspended from the ceiling.

“It’s about bringing the vineyard feel to the city,” Director, Patrick Caroscio said. “The building is quite iconic in Adelaide’s architectural landscape and we felt it was important to give the space a lift that reflected this presence and modernistic feel.”

“After 18 months of operation, Wined Bar has proved to be a very popular offering”, Emeny said. “We’ve decided to further invest in the consumer experience with an improved offering that will provide greater accessibility, atmosphere and emphasis on food.”

Last year the installation of 14 Enomatic wine preservation and dispensing machines allowed the bar to increase the wines available for tasting from 45 to 120, offering the largest wine tasting experience in Australia.

The Wined Bar is situated on the outside of the Botanic Gardens and is a great spot for functions and casual drinking as it is a stone-throw from the city.

Be sure to pop in to sample the vast range of fine and boutique wines on offer and try the delectable new menu this month!
