It was a seedy Sunday evening we crawled into the Fat Man’s basement, but no seediness was going to prevent us from witnessing George Maple’s entrancing demeanour in the flesh.

The second stop into her biggest national tour to date, George Maple did not disappoint from the second she floated onstage. Clad in a black latex bodysuit and bright red kimono, she began her incredible performance by opening with her latest single Sticks and Horses and had people in every corner of Fats getting down. Anyone who’s heard George Maple before understand the level of seduction her vocals hold, and every verse she sung had your skin crawling with emotion and grinding with the person next to you.

Adelaide’s pride and joy Tkay Maidza joined George Maple onstage to perform an unreleased track that we totally digged. The two together onstage were a riot, bouncing and throwing words at each other to the soothing synths provided by the DJ.

The highlight of the show was without a doubt when she closed the evening with her hypnotic song Talk Talk, recently remixed by DJ Snake and once again making the rounds on radio. In between the second verse and chorus George Maple left an extra beat empty that almost made you cry in anticipation.
