Photo Diary: Summer looks with Amerii and Kapara London

Beautiful, flowing dresses and woven wicker bags; is there anything that sums up summer fashion more than these two things? We recently collabed with Kapara London and Amerii to create some content at the picturesque Regent’s Park featuring their carefully designed pieces.

Not just any brands, both Kapara and Amerii both have an ethical focus on production and quality. Creating pieces that are designed to last and you’ll want to wear again and again, these pieces are just as suited to city living as they are to summer travels.

Kapara is based between London and Jaipur. All the designs and manufacturing happen in India, where Kapara works alongside a women’s empowerment program that teaches women from the slums sewing skills and offers them employment. If that wasn’t amazing enough, they’ve also set up two foundations, The Rucksack Project and Weaving the Future, which both work to improve the lives of children in Jaipur.

We both fell in love with the Frida dress, with its beautifully lightweight and flowing fabric, flattering design and Bardot neckline. A subtle all-over pattern has been made using traditional block printing techniques passed down through generations of Indian families, hand printed onto the fabric to ensure each dress is unique. Perfect for dressing up with some heeled sandals for a warm-weather party or teaming with some trainers for a more casual look, this dress is a versatile winner for any wardrobe. The cotton voile fabric doesn’t seem to crease easily either, making it a great pick to pack in your suitcase.

Amerii specialise in traditional rattan and Ata bags from Bali. Partnering with Balinese artisans, each design is handmade by local weavers that work under Fair Trade regulations to ensure they are fairly compensated. Both Mel and Kristen fell in love with the Ata Bag in large, the perfect style to take with us to Malta and Mallorca and team with all our holiday outfits. The larger size is great for fitting all our essentials in as well, easily fitting our phones, a coin purse, makeup for touchups and other bits and pieces. Made with a fun patterned lining, leather strap and fastening and woven from Ata grass, each piece is high-quality but due to the composition, we’d recommend not wearing it with delicate fabrics.

Scroll down to see our sunny day spent in the park and check out how we styled these amazing pieces.
